How do you get rid of a pesky armadillo?

Question:He dug a hole and went under my house. Anything that will drive him away or how can I catch him? I've heard they can't see but have strong hearing so it's hard to sneak up on them. Help!

I have a problem with these guys too, tearing up my yard and also digging a hole and getting under the house. I went to the local animal shelter and borrowed a cage (actually rented, but you get the money back when you return it). The guy told me to put the cage in front of the hole where he is getting in and line two boards up in a v-angle going into the cage. This being because as you say, they cannot see but the boards will guide them into the cage. You can either take him somewhere and set him free or call the shelter and they will come remove him for you. The only problem with this is they are kind of like mice...there are more than you see. I read that they like digging in a sandy soil, and unfortunately I had put down a load of river silt and that is where he (they) chose to dig the hole. The shelter also suggested covering the area with limestone. Good luck!
p.s. I also love the idea of shooting them, sounds very rewarding but then you are left with disposal. Yuck!
Oh yeah, one more thing...there is something you can water into your yard to get rid of grubs, which is what they are digging for. This is available at a feed store, appx. $40 for 50 lb bag, if I remember correctly.

Try some moth balls.
They come out at night. Hang out nearby with a decent rifle and cap him.
