Roaches, Mice, and more roaches What Should I DO?

Question:I have finally settled into my apartment, I have been here for only 5 months, and roaches are popping out in my kitchen and bathroom; small ones, big ones, and fat ones, mice run around at night leaving their droppings everywhere, and the landlord never told me that there were mice and roaches, I am terrified of the roaches and not so much of the rats, I am so scared of the roaches that I can not step on them, I run. I keep the place clean, and they only seem to come out more. I need to get out of here, why should i pay rent for an infestation, not to mention my 2 year old lives with me. Any suggestions on how to get rid of them, or how to make money quickly, so I can move, quickly. Thanks.

Answers:
Well, if you live in an apartment building with other occupants you won't be able to get rid of them no matter how clean you are. I would not pay my rent either and I'd get out of their as fast as I could. He won't be able to get you for breaking a lease being the conditions are so horrible, and you do have a child living there. If you want to make money quickly and have a sitter who will help you out, take on some extra hours at work if they allow. If not then take on a part time job for a few extra bucks. Restaurants are always looking for someone, even if it's just for the summer months. You can always work a few nights a week and save that money. I know it will be hard but what else can you do... you can't live in a place like that, it's not healthy. Good Luck To You.

I would report it to your landlord. They should pay for the place to be bombed (meaning they take special spray stuff to kill them) I believe you have to stay somewhere else for a day or so until the smell is gone. If your landlord doesnt take care of it, I believe you can turn them into the Local housing authority for the problem, but I'm not 100% sure!
If you are a renter then it is the responsibility of the owner/landlord to have the place fumigated to get rid of both kinds of pests. Once you have a roach infestation it can be very hard to get rid of but it can be done. See if your local library has a copy of the local Landlord/Tenant laws which will give you some leverage w/the landlord. You can also contact your local public health department for help getting the landlord to take care of the problem. You should not have to pay to have the problem taken care of. Good luck to you.
Boric acid powder, I've had good results with the Johnsons brand. There are several generic brands which I haven't tried...This should cure your roach problems...May take a month to kill them all ..One treatment lasts me about 4 years
