I'm designing a house that has Frank Lloyd Wright mitered windows. Can you make mitered Thermopane windows?
Question:These are the windows that come together at a 90 degree angle and meet without a center post...remain clear. But most are done with regular flat glass, but I want Thermopane windows. Is this possible?
Answers:
I'm trying to think if i have seen this on commercial buildings or not..I think I have. I imagine it would be very costly to do so. Insulated glass is made as 2 parts or 3 and then sandwiched so these pieces would need to be 2 L's...hmmm I don't know. I used to have a refrigerated case for the bakery that had insulated glass and it was more or less a 1/4 circle. I would assume that if they can be made in singe pane they can be made insulated all you would need was 2 of the single ones. This is clearly not a definitive answer but I thought Id comment.
Good luck
