No, snakes do not dig holes. They have no natural equipment suitable for hole digging.

Generally no, unless it's sand. Usually they'll just take over a hole belongs to something that already dug it, chipmunk, ground squirrel, ect.
i don't think they dig their own holes. they might just take over other animals holes.
