How many pairs of scissors should one have ?

Question:I seem to have about 6 almost identical big pairs.
Probably cos I regularly lose them.

Answers:
Depends on how big your home is, and your lifestyle. You should have a pair of scissors every place where you could possibly need them, so they are always within convenient reach. We have 6 pairs in our apartment:
1) at the office desk.
2) next to the phone, with all our pens
3) in the bedroom (for when we buy new clothes and need to cut off the tags)
4) sewing scissors in the sewing kit
5) hair-cutting scissors in the haircut kit
6) in the arts & crafts box

One can never have too many scissors.
Honestly, I have about thirty pair...can never have too many!
R U CRAZY???
Same here! *counting* I have 6. Kitchen, Sewing, and 2 for the office, Garden, and Crafts...
Hmm.. it seems i have a scissor obsession!!

Edit:

found 10 more

in my bathrooms and garage!!
so six seems to be the right amount for you then! I've got three, 1 small, 1 really big, and 1 for my partner to cut my hair with, and yeah i cut hers with them too, but not as well. Not sure what else you'd use them for!
I have about 5 but if I look I could find more.
as many as you can run with
that's about right.
Never Enough.
1. for hair
4. Regular Pairs
1 sm pair for sewing
1 lg pair for sewing
1 sm pair for crafting
and probably 50 pairs of the patterned ones by fiskars.
1 pr for the kitchen.
Hubby has a few for his work as a Electrican
So you can never have to many.
3-one pair for kitchen items (cutting food bags), one pair for plant pruning (indoor), and one pair for cutting paper, craft items etc. You should always have a specific place for each pair so they are not easily attained by children.
3

Kitchen
Garage
Office
The place where i work it it seems like ever time we buy at least 2 to three pairs of scissors. The LOL scissors fairly comes in and takes them. After she comes and takes them we can never find them. Then it starts all over again where we have to go out and buy some more.
As many as we want , I guess.
I have 4 pair, different sizes.
Am the same - own loads and then end up having to use the garden secateurs to cut my fringe!!
One pair for kitchen use - ideal for cutting a corner off the top of cartons, as the plastic openers on cartons do not allow easy pouring. Also, such scissors can be used for cutting open packets, since many tear easily these days. These scissors can be for general use as well.

Two pairs for cutting toenails - one pair with long handles with the blades set at an angle for easy cutting of the small toe nails. The other pair with short handles and short blades. These are ideal for the big toe nails. These are available from good chemists and are proper toe nail scissors. Don't use ordinary scissors for cutting toenails.

Also, craft scissors with shaped blade edges. These give fancy edges when cutting paper, and are ideal for use with old Christmas cards as they can be cut up and used for gift tags, or used to decorate wrapped presents.

Also, another pair to be kept in a First Aid box, for cutting bandages, plasters etc. Most First Aid boxes will already have scissors in them. Don't use these for anything else.
