How do i tell when corn and carrots are ready to be harvested?

Question:this is the first time i have grown these two vegetables in my garden. pictures would help on the corn

Answers:
With carrots, I would just pull up one and see if it is as big as I would want it. If not, I would leave the other ones in there to grow a little more.
Corn is easier, the silks turn brown and dry.
Then you just pull a little of the husk away at the top end and see if it is as mature as you like. Some people like it young and some like a little more chewiness to it.

The silk strands that come out of the tip of the corn will turn from a greenish color to a gold bown color. Carrots the tops will be over a foot high.
