Whats a good way to keep birds out of my garden?

Question:I have heard of pie pans & rubber snakes...I think they're on to the snakes...what else will work?

THANKS TO ALL THAT ANSWER !!

Answers:
Tie aluminum pie pans to a string and let them hang from a stake when the wind blows the pans will move and the birds wont come near them. You could also try a good old fashioned scare crow..

A plastic owl or one that flaps in the breeze is very effective.Check with your local nursery.good Luck
I am so disappointed that yet I am answering another persons' question about how to get rid of birds in their garden! I live in California, where there are fewer and fewer wild birds, and I do all that I can to attract them into my yard. They rely on good natured people like myself to provide bird baths for them to drink from and bathe in.

I suppose my best answer is to tell you to tell the birds that annoy you to fly North.or South...or East...or West...from as far away as you are to my garden where I will make them feel right at home!
you must be so stressed to not like birds, they wont eat much & besides thats nature, but put nets over what you don't want them to eat
I had trouble with birds ruining my tomatoes. A garden specialist I talked to told me the birds were primarily after bugs and moisture. I installed a bird bath and bird feeder where it didn't matter in the yard to attract them there and they generally left my garden alone. Simple solution to a perceived problem and I still got to keep my sanity and listen to songbirds.
