What is the standard height for a rural mailbox??

Different regions of the country have differing hieghts requirements, the average is forty inches. Why not take a look at your neighbors mailboxes and bring along a tape measure, that way you will have the installation done right the very first time.
I believe it is 42" from the bottom of the mail box to the ground. I would be sure to check with your local post office to make sure you are placing the mailbox in the right spot, they have certain places for them, depending on what type of delivery service you have.
