Lady bugs weird color?

Question:i just found what looks to be a lady bug but it had clear and black wings and yellow spots can anyone please tell me what it is?

Answers:
That's not a lady bug, it's a Potato bug. They eat leaves and flowers, you don't want those.. Lady bugs eat other insects and aphids and are desirable.

Yea you might want to treat it with a pesticide.
I'm not sure if I know what your particular 'ladybug' is but I can tell you that 'ladybugs' are no longer just the bright-red winged, black-spotted little darlings of the past! When I was little we thought it was good luck to have one land on the back of your hand! I learned that when organic farming began to increase, ladybugs were used in place of chemicals to control aphids. Then when more and more farmers were looking for alternatives to chemicals, we began to see different varieties of ladybugs. One, I was told, was an Asian variety which is more of a dull orange color, a little smaller than our 'old-fashioned' ladybugs, and it has smaller and more spots on it. I suspect you may have stumbled across yet another variety or perhaps some sort of 'hybrid' ladybug. In any event, my guess is the bug was introduced from elsewhere or actually bred to control insect infestation of crops. That's my answer and I'm stickin' to it!
