I am looking to purchase a king sized bed.?

Question:i am wondering how hard it is to manage around a bed this size, how hard it is, to change the sheets, and uh. room stats- like how easy is it to place furniture around such a large piece of furniture?? do you really need a head board? what is it like to live with a king sized bed? do you guys sleep better on a king sized bed, with ample room to move?? what about if you moved? how easy is it to move a king sized bed?? if i had a room of about 12ft x 13ft, would it fit nicely w/ more room than a couple of feet around it?? thanks for any info...

Small room, they can not be moved easy.I bought too much bed for me...I bought a regular king, hard to find the sheets, and wow are they high. The Ca. king is longer,so i really didn't want bigger. They are good if you want no contact with partner, but you get a groove in the middle.i should have kept my queen.hard to get the linen on ,walking around and getting the middle...Think about it and measure the bed to fit that room...

I LOVE mine! I hate sleeping on anything else, once you have all that stretching room, you don't want to go back. You do not need a headboard, but one will help protect your wall. Over time, oils from your hair and arms, etc will get on the wall and make a dingy mark..also dings from my husbands watch :-) You don't have to put a headboard, you could put anything on the wall behind the bed for protection, my mom has pretty fabric gathered over a plywood frame she attached to the wall behind the bed. In her guest room, she has a gathered curtain on the wall behind the bed.

It is tricky to move one, definately a two person job, as it consists of 2 twin box springs and 1 big *** mattress. I have no problem making mine, I just work my way around corner to corner. My room is a bout 12 x 15, and the head of the bed fits in a "notch" in the wallspace, and it fits nicely. There is not a huge amount of space on either side, but not crowded. I have a bookshelf on my side and hubby has hamper and closet/bedroom doors on his side, and we both have an upright dresser on either side of the head.
Go to your furniture store. Measure the bed you are interested in buying. I would say yes to a headboard and remember too to measure for the size of the rails. It sounds as if your room is kind of small. Do you feel like you need more room? Its just a bigger bed not that big a deal unless you have a restless sleeper with you or someone you just dont like to sleep close too. lol. sorry about that. It is kind of hard to make a large bed in a small room. If you buy the other pieces of the bedroom suite remember working around windows and closets. Moving any mattress isnt fun...you just need to grab some friends on moving day!
What are you sleeping on now? A Queen is 60 x 80 and a king is 72 x 84. Your bedding will be more expensive. If you have the room, it's definitely worth it! ( Full size or double bed is 54 x 72). Personally, I like the extra length...I'm 6'0. Although I'm comfortable in a queen as long as the covers/sheets are not tucked in tightly at the foot of the bed.
I would recommend staying with regular depth of mattress rather than going with "thicker" . Then if you move it will be asier. Also don't forget to rotate your mattress every 6 months. (end to end and turn it over) There are some mattresses that don't require turning, but I'v never owned one.
King size is the way to go, I have had one for 20 years but recently just got a lattex mattress for $3,000 >> Big mistake don't get me wrong it is really comfortable and not hot to sleep on, you just sink into it, only I wake up all stiff I suppose I need a firmer bed.?? Good Luck
