Whats the best food to put in a mouse trap?
Question:i've tried peanut butter, no luck. what else can i try?
Answers:
without a doubt...peanut butter. they love it and its hard to get off springing the trap
try a piece of bread or cookie
Jelly ,cheese.
sharp cheeses , they smell them right away and you get them quick
It may not be the bait but the trap. I have noticed that the newer cheap traps do not spring as easily as the older ones. I have always used peanut butter but with the new traps I find that I need to push something like bread or a piece of cracker into the bait holder to get the mouse to spring it.
You might try pecans a cheap peanut butter. Put the trap along the base boards or in closets.
I had an old lady tell me slightly cooked bacon, and if you want to really get creative she always said sew the bacon to the trap with just simple sewing thread thru that little hole on the tab that sets the trap. I have also just used bologna, but haven't sewn either on. Good luck!
Chocolate. Worked for us.
Put both sharp cheese and peanut butter on it. The mouse cannot resist the dual temptation. That or just get a sticky trap. Those things work wonders.
Proteins- bacon, ham. and so on. May try dry dog food.
Peanut butter has always worked for me but it take a few days. Try mixing bird seed in the peanut butter.
peanut butter
We've had luck with the pecans. I've also got one using chocolate. I personally don't prefer them, but alot of people say the glue strips work everytime too. ( I prefer the quick , hopefully less painful method of the traps).
