What kind of tree is this and where can I get one?

Question:I once found a tree that was being thrown out, I was unable to save it but would love to get another one. It was tall, between six and seven foot; with a very skinny trunk, probably 2 inches wide, three at the most. The leaves were huge, from the tips of my fingers at least to my elbows if not longer. They reminded my of what a "Big Foot" footprint might look like, both in size and shape. For some reason I got the impression that it might be tropical.

Answers:
Take it that this was a houseplant? Guessing that it was a Fiddleleaf Fig, aka Lyre-leafed Fig (Ficus lyrata ) . Relatively common houseplant . Will see if I can find a pic for you.

Here it is : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ficus_lyrat...

As you can see , that's a small specimen. The leaves can be much larger, on a mature tree.
