i had one in my heater vent system. took me two weeks to figure it out.
i bought a live animal trap and put it outside where he was leaving from under the house.
a carrot and some bacon
he was in it the next morning
the live traps don't let them lift their tails to spray, so you are fairly safe when you take it in the back of your car and drive it off many miles away and release it with a very long rope. :D
Make your property less attractive to him - don't leave out dog or cat food or bird seed, make the garbage inaccessible, and don't leave things around that give him good places to hide. Other than that, you kind of have to put up with it.
Ask him for rent......
