Las Vegas Housing?

Question:Looking to move to Las Vegas, and trying to find a place to live. What are areas to avoid, and what are good areas for housing that are relatively close to the strip? We do not want a commute of over 45 minutes (that is the absolute max). We can affort to pay up to $1400 a month.

Thanks!

Answers:
Pretty much anywhere in the valley is less than 45 minutes from the strip. Many of the areas right near the strip are either older and not great places or very expensive. You can try places in the Southwest area or directly North of the strip if you are looking for newer homes with good prices in good neighborhoods.
If you are looking to rent, $1400 a month can rent a nice single family home. If you are looking to buy, you can get a nice place for that much on a monthly mortgage, but then you will have to add taxes, insurance, and fees to that.
You can aks a local Realtor about renting or buying and get more information regarding specific areas.
