Answers:
I got those in my brand new house about a week or 2 after we moved in. It took about a week to get rid of them, but here's what I did.
I bought a bug and fly spray that was made for food areas (I don't remember what brand- sorry!), and I sprayed all drains and areas with standing water 2-4 times a day.
I also poured bleach down the drains along with ammonia (Not at the same time - the fumes will kill you!) Always make sure to run plenty of hot water through the drains between the bleach and the ammonia!! I cannot stress this point too much!
After a week or so, the flies all disappeared, and I haven't had them since (over 1 year ago)
Nope
i dont know what these are but i would put some bleach or something real strong down the drain and then cap it so they cant get out and they are die.or some scolding hot water.
I have drain flies every spring. I get rid of them by pouring bleach down the drain every night before I go to bed. I put a saucer over the drains to cover them. I do not use the sink any more until morning. In about a week the should be gone. Try this it works very well for me.
Dran-O should get 'em. O.o J/K, I really have no idea. Sorry.
Where I am, they are called sewer flies, and they disappear in 2-3 days.I don't do anything.
Drain Flies are very common in north eastern Pennsylvania. they breed in the bacteria present inside your drain pipes.
In my field , I'd treat with gentrol & bio-gel. Being the fact these are restricted use pesticides your best bet would be, get yourself draino or equivilant. ( I found draino gets better results) Put approximatly 2 ounces of draino in your traps and let sit over night, flush traps in the morning. Repeat procedure for 3 days should eliminate thier breeding ground and rectify your problem.
