Anyone have an opinion on waterbeds?

Question:Thinking about buying one for all the health benefits I've been reading; although I've been told they are not worth it. Anyone have any recomendations? I really want a mattress that would support your joints, relaxes muscles, etc., something theraputic.

Thanks!

Answers:
I used to have one. It was great for a while but a pain to make up. If you have an older home, I wouldn't recommend it though unless you're absolutely certain the flooring will support it.

You also have to be careful of what you put on or near it. Earrings, pins, needles and the like will put holes in the mattress and cause leaks. Finding a leak in the mattress is a royal pain in the butt, as is the repair which may or may not hold.

I've heard that sleep-number beds are good, too. I currently have one and my back is more sore now than it was before I got it so I couldn't in good conscience recommend one for you.

Best of luck to you in your quest for a decent mattress.

Waterbeds are okay as long as they don't spring a leak. However . . . DON'T EVER let your children climb into bed with you in your waterbed. You could roll over them and not even know it until it was too late.
Hate them, restless sleeper, kept getting sea sick.Try latex,I've had mine about two years now, easy to clean, you just turn it and it remains pristine, molds to your body without clinging. No back pain and you wake up ready for the day.
Water beds are OK, unless you like to drink. You'll get sea-sick when you try to sleep after an evening out.
