How can you tell the difference between mouse and bat feces?
Question:I have recently discovered a few turds in my condo. There have been mouse issues here in the past and I had a run in with a bat about 10 days ago. So, I am trying to figure out if I need more mouse traps or if the bat continues to reside here. The turds are very small maybe 1/4 inch long and were found on a window ledge and on top of a dresser. Any and all help is welcomed including suggestions for how to rid my life of either/both of these critters.
Thanks!

Hi,
on a window ledge and top of a wardrobe sounds like it is a mouse but the true test is to squeeze one between your fingers.
A bat dropping will crumble into powder whereas a mouse dropping is moist and will squash but will hold together.
Removal of mice calls for a humane trap, you can get some now that will hold 4 mice at a time ready for removal to a new home.
Bats are a protected species and you should not touch them at all. If they do become a real nuisance you will have to call in a conservationist help to reallocate them.
The place you describe finding the droppings, I would say it's a mouse.
Bats usually live in an unfinished area, such as an attic or barn. But I guess they could be condo bats.
