Those small flat cans of ant bait work well but not instantly. The ants carry it back to their homes and several days later, they are all gone.
Boric acid that is available at our local 99 cents store works on lots of bugs. It looks like powder, but is actually crystals that cut ants and roaches so their life juices run out. Yuk! But, still better than using commerical poisons. Even though people once used weak solutions of boric acid to rinse their eyes, it is poisonous too and has to be kept away from kids and pets.
Ants are suppose to be repelled by some herbs like cinnamon or cloves.
Good luck with getting rid of them safely.
get insect killer in the spray pump gallon spray it around every crevise outside your house and then get the indoor stuff and do it inside along the floorboards, windows and doorways. if you have a basement or crawl space i would do it in there also.
i think thats every1s problem. i usually carry a spray bottle around and spray away anytime i c 1. u can also try a bug spray i dont cuz i hate the smell.!
Torro works well. It's safe for pets and children too, which is a plus. Make sure you keep all food picked up in and around your house...especially pet food. Ants love dog food. If they are still coming in your house, try putting black pepper near where they are entering, they won't cross it. Also the scent of vinegar works. Treat your yard as well. If you can kill them outside, there won't be any left to come inside.
