Does Poison Ivy have hairy stems? Does it look like there are a millioin tiny tiny hairs on it?
Question:Do the stems have a touch of reddish tint on them right before the leaf starts? Does it just have a million stems growing out of a hairy root? I poured bleach on it, will that kill whatever it is?
Answers:
Bleach might kill it, but Roundup will do a better job.
Poison ivy leaves may have smooth or jagged edges, but the giveaway for me is that it has "thumbs" on the leaves. On the outside leaves, there's a lobe that sticks out on the outside edge. On the middle leave, there's a lobe on both sides.
If it is left to grow long enough, poison ivy can form a vine that will climb up trees, etc. Then, the clue to look for is a thick vine that has what looks like a zillion hair-thin roots or strands fastening it to the tree.
Go to http://images.google.com and type in poison ivy... you'll find tons of photos.
Try these websites. They have good pictures. I'm very allergic to poison ivy, and by your description, that sounds like what you have.
no they are not
It is a broadleaf weed. It could be poison ivy but that doesnt matter when you want to kill it. Don't use bleach.
You need a selective broadleaf weed killer called
"Triple Threat". Get it here;
