There are two cats which keep coming into my garden and making a mess and undoing my vegetables.?
Question:Does anyone know what I can do to deter them from entering my garden, i have tried putting up chicken wire around the veg but they still got in :-(
Answers:
Put moth balls around in your garden. They don't like the smell and will go someplace more pleasant.
Lemon peel and plastic bottles can deter them (the plastic bottles frighten them)
A dog
moth balls placed around the area cats hate the smell.
Take moth balls and place them around your garden. Theres something about them that cats don't like. It works, believe me, I have stray cats in neighborhood, and they kept getting under house. Haven't seen one around lately. Hope it works for you!!
Cats do not like the smell of bleach. Believe me, this definately works and dosent harm the soil, flowers or veg provided you dont go too mad with it. Just a small drip here and there should do the trick. You could also put down orange or lemon peel and grapefruit will get rid of unwanted garden pests like slugs and snails. Hope this helps. Good luck.
they are mine, sorry
a friend had the same problem and was advised to put used tea bags round her plants ... it seems to have worked !!
air rifle
Sprinkle pepper up their backsides!
That will shift them!
How do you undo a vegetable?
talk to the owner of the cats im sure ull be able to sort something out
Re-use your chicken wire; cut the wire to fit in ON THE GROUND including a couple of feet prior to garden. Cats don't like walking on wire & definitely can do their digging.
Also, you can set several mouse traps without bait. These traps are too small to hurt a cat but it sure discourages frequent trips.
A Jack Russell, Ihave one called jodie great dog will also keep out postmen.
go to b&q garden section they sell this little machine - its about 35 quid but well worth it
it makes a ultra-sonic sound when anything moves around it (like a cat) as cats can hear this high pitch sound (and we cant) it will not come near your garden as cats find this noise highly irritating
although if you have other pets in the house, you may not be able to use this...
good luck
Try keeping the garden very wet.
Most cats don't like water, nor muddy areas.
.
plastic bottles three quarters full with water, lay them arond veg patch when sun shines ( dont laugh after all rain we've had) it reflects off water & cats dont like it. hanging old cd's from a garden cane works just as good, as breeze moves them they too reflect . it solved my cat problem. failing that there are sonic things on market that scare them away . good luck
Buy a shotgun !
