How do water bugs get into your house?
Question:My wife and I live in South Carolina and it is the time of year when it doesn't rain much here. We sometimes find insects trying to get in the house looking for water. Sometimes when we go in the bathrooms, like last night, we will see a big water bug that looks like a roach on steroids. How do they get into the house? Why are they usually in the bathroom?
Answers:
You find them in the bathroom because they can smell the water and are trying to get to it.
As to how they get inside, you'd be amazed at the cracks that bugs find to get inside your home.
The recommendation of Boric Acid is great as it's an easy to get product and if it works, is a simple solution! I don't have those bugs but if I did, I'd try his recommendation.
i put out a lot of boric acid, after i saw one. haven't seen one since, but that's probably just coincidence. just google it and you are sure to find tips like putting steel wool in drain, or other places...I hate those things worse than any bug.
They get into your house by swimming in.How else
Where I grew up they came in the basement through the basement drain near the washer ... I think they like cool wet places...is it too cool and wet in the bathroom?
