Although rare, people can get Hantavirus from rodent droppings and urine. The link below gives information on how to clean up the infested area and protect yourself in the process.

Good luck.
diluted bleach.
get some good strong smelling pinesole or Mr. clean.
bleach - no. This will remove color on your wood furniture & it's not kind to plastic. It is a great sterilizer, though. So, if there are items that you can use bleach, go ahead. Just make sure you rinse the items thoroughly.
Pine-Sol or Mr. Clean will clean a lot of your surfaces. If you go with those solutions, I would strongly suggest finding liquid Spi c 'n Span mixed with water per directions (the liquid seems to hard to find in all stores). This is more expensive, but I have found from experience there is NO residue left compared to Pine-Sol, Mr. Clean, etc... (I sure liked how they cleaned & smelled). **Wear plastic gloves.**
50/50 water bleach solution..wear gloves.I also used to manage a storage unit in Florida. check your local laws and the way that unit does thier rental agreement..they could be responsible for your belongings..some rental units state you need to get your own insurance, however if they claim to do thier upkeep on extermination, rodent control..then they are liable for this damage.next time you have to store stuff in this manner..use tons of moth balls all over the flors and rafters there..they hate this stuff
