Ants In The House / How Can I Kill Them?
Question:We have many brown ants in our kitchen. I've never saw an ant here before, they came so suddenly. There are so many, horrible. I think they hide under the built in furniture, carpet and tiles. When they come out, I see them everywhere.
What is the best thing to kill these annoying insects?

Ortho Home Defense. It comes in a gallon size spray bottle, and it will more than cover your home or apt. It is safe to use indoors or outdoors. I swear by it. Spray around the windows, doors, and foundation first. Then take it indoors right to where the ants are at. Spray any and all surfaces around that area within the lable directions. It will create a "wall" that will keep ants out for at least a year.
Go to a hardware store or something and look for ant traps. I got these and they worked. Or get an exterminator.

Go to your nearest home and garden store and ask for ant bait.if that doesn't help...time to phone for pest control because you might have an ant hill near by.

Look for ants posion and spread them around the path of the ants. It shold work.
If not - trace the path of the ants to their hive - then spray !

I live in an area with lots of ants. It wasn't until I got monthly pest control service (that sprayed around the permiter of the house and inside the walls) that I got rid of them. Sometimes it is worth calling in the BIG guns. In the meantime, make sure you use a bleach/water mixture to clean your cupboards and countertops and garbage cans. No crumbs on the floor.
I use Terro, its a liquid ant bait that you put a couple of drops on squares of card board that are included with it. In a day or two you won't see any more. They suck it up and take it back with them and poison the rest of the ants in their nests. Keep it away from children and pets. There's not smell like the sprays and it works a lot quicker than the ant "buttons" or traps.
Use some powdered insect killer. The advantage is that it sticks to their legs and if some of them make it to their anthill chances are that it would go there and kill more.
Another tip for saving your foos items like sugar, flour etc from them is to put in 10-15 cloves. it is a sure fire way of keeping ants away from that food item.
I use Home Defense around the borders of my house, inside and out, once a year, when we had an ant problem. Since doing this, we haven't had one ant invasion.
