What's your favourite tomato to grow?

Question:Tell me about flavour, size, etc. Also if they need staking, growing outside etc.

Answers:
We grow Roma tomatoes for making spaghetti sauce. They are pear shape, make thick juice. We also grow Beefsteak tomatoes for juice. They are huge and are shaped funny. They make excellent juice. My dad starts all of the plants by seeds. It's a family thing. All tomatoes require staking, or something holding them up so they don't fall. Once a tomato is touching the ground it will rot. Last year we bought a roll of fence and made our own "cages" for them. They did excellent and usually grow 6 ft.

Grow bags work best for toms.
Cherry tomatoes are the only ones I enjoy eating. I've got some this year to grow but don't know their type - a man down the road from my Mum was selling them and she got them for me. I have my grow bags ready and a little plastic greenhouse for them too so hopefully the slugs won't get the plants this year. I use canes for them to grow up.
I love plumb tomatoe's, I just put them in a grow back with a stake and slowly tie the plant ot it.
Plum tomatoes. They are the best, nice and sweet and small.
I like ketchup plants
I like to grow couple different varieties. I grow plum style tomatoes(health kick) for canning, slicing tomatoes (Yukon gold) low in acid and high in flavor, plus I grow cherry style (grape tomatoes) for fresh eating. I use a 4ft high sheep panel one on each side. the hole in the panel are big enough to reach through and the wire strong enough to hold the plants up. put them about 20 inches apart with the tomatoes in the middle.

A nice big juicy, sweet red one which is not GM!!!
I grow cherry tomato 'Sweet Thousands' which is an F1 variety. You get it by crossing 'Gardeners Delight' with 'Moneymaker'. So I grow all 3 varieties each year and keep them seperate to get all the seeds I need.
Sweet Thousands is a small and very sweet tomato, they manage outside even with our weather, the plants don't get that tall and a short cane will do.
Gardeners Delight is another small sweet variety and both are heavy croppers.
Moneymaker is a tall upright plant with large salad tomatoes.
At the end of the season I make the surplus into tomato sauce and freeze it.
