What is the best way to store recycling outside, with out attracting ants?

Question:I have a TINY apartment, and can't keep it in the house, so I want to set up a place outside with bins, but I don't want to set up a welcome sign for ants, as my children play outside too :( Any suggestions?

Answers:
Wash the stuff out, and let them dry off before you put them outside.

I don't know about that grits thing, but I hear that this stuff called "diatomaceous earth" scatches up their joints, and makes them dry up then die.

Be sure to rinse everything out thoroughly. That should work.
To get rid of ants, if u use dry grits( its a food/like oatmeal), and sprinkle some in the bottom of the bin. What that does is, when the ants eat the grits and drink water. The grits expand and blow up! Just like black pepper around your trash, to keep stare animals way! It makes them sneeze
