What do you use when you run out of clean plates?
Question:I like upturned saucepan lids, empty cereal packets, old copies of viz.

I love using my hands....oh, yes, we were talking about plates here, now weren't we? I personally like using the sandbox shovel I used to play with when I was a wee little witchie. It brings back so many sweet memories of the beach and all those bad little boys who wanted to play with my toys.

I usually wash the plates,when they run out ,if that fails disposable plates the go...
bin em and buy 20 paper ones for a pound!
I use some dishsoap and a sponge, it works wonderfully on cleaning dirty plates!

try using paper plates... they make really nice ones with various designs... especially for desserts... everyone generally likes the idea of disposable dishes they dont feel guilty about leaving the dirty dishes for you to clean.

Obviously you don't have a dog on kitchen duty. Barring that the only thing I can think of is to use the other side of the plate.
I once heard of a mother visiting her daughter and son-in-law and they were eating out of the same plate, she commented how romantic that was, and the daughter said: It's the only clean plate in the house. I have a dishwasher. I never get colds anymore. My hubby is fond of paper plates.
i use a spray bottle. part dish soap part water .
then i can clean them easie and have a clean what ever i might need . And with the soap already on them i don't eat off partly clean plates .

Just stand over the sink and eat out of the pan, works for my son. I would never be without paper plates.
I use the bowls. If I'm really desperate I up turn the lids on the Pyrex dishes.

i try to remove a plate from the kitchen sink at 4.30am
very quietly,but usually end up waking half the street up with a banging and clashing of plates all falling in on each other.lol
