Above ground pool?
Question:i have a 24" above ground pool, just got new liner put in. I need to get it filled up with water and some people tell me that the fire company will do it for free is that true? and if not does anyone know how much it is?
Answers:
I don't think a fire truck will fill your pool up. However, depending on were you live like me you may pay a water and a sewage payment. If this is the case call your water company and tell them you are filling a pool give them the gallons which can probably be found somewhere on-line and they shouldn't charge you the sewage portion of the bill. Then you can just use city/house water which shouldn't cost that much. Sewage is usually twice the water bill.
Using a county fire truck for gain or personal use is illegal in Maryland
In Michigan it is not true. I suspect that it is not true other places. We had ours filled by a company that hauls milk from farms. THe haulers were first washed. We had two big trucks come. Our poll is 15x30 w/ a deep end, holds about 15,000 gallons. I think we paid $150.00. Our pool company that installed it recommended the place to get the water and set it up for us.
never heard that one before, i just put the hose on and my neighbour throws her hose over and we get it done that way, have you two poeple living close, three hoses are even better.
As far as I know, the fire company will NOT do that for you at all. I recommend just using your regular garden hose. It will take a while for the pool to fill, but it will work. Also, expect a higher-than-normal water bill when you do this, depending on how much water the pool will hold. This is the method I used for filling my in-ground pool where I used to live after draining it and repairing the plaster.
firemen won't even rescue cats from trees anymore, let alone fill a pool up.
