Can someone help me to organise what I need in my new home ??

Question:Hiya, I am moving out of my mum and dads bungalow into my own house, I don't have anything except what will go in my room in the new house, all i am allowed to take is the things I own and the furniture in my bedroom.
( My parents are converting my room into a playroom for my lil bros. )
I basically have :
Desk
Laptop
Leather Chair
Bed
Bedside Table
Bookcase
DVD Tower
TV + DVD + Freeview box.
Wardrobe + Chest of draws.
I have loads of items, teddies, books, dvds, cds, old school books, clothes etc.
So I now need to think about what else I need to buy for the rest of my new house.
Living room, bathroom, kitchen, spare room + garage.
Anyone have a list I need to buy and how much I should expect to pay ?
Anyone recently moved and had to make a list they could kindly give me the link to ?

Any help is appretiated.
Thanks =)

Congratulations!
Sounds like you have a lot of things already.
Unless you have a lot of cash laying around, I suggest asking around if anyone has any furniture they no longer need. Also have your parents check with their friends. I have a dining room table you could have if you lived around here. Try not to go into debt to buy things. (don't do what I did, go into debt right away. Paid on my new furniture for 4 years. Yuck

Things you may need:

Sofa (You could use your leather chair with it)
end table
lamp
Entertainment center for TV
dinette with 4 chairs (to have friends over)
Silverware (you can buy spoons, forks, knives bundled in pkgs of six at Walmart for $1.00 per pack)
Pans, dishes, glasses, cooking utensils, and toaster
Towels, washclothes, dishcloths, dishtowels
Shower curtain
Groceries
Don't forget cleaning supplies which includes dish detergent,
glass cleaner, antibacterial kitchen cleaner, toilet bowl cleaner, clothes detergent and fabric softener.

This should get you started with the bare essentials.

I'm sure your parents love you and would help with some of this, if they are able. Good Luck

get a maid
Obviously bare essentials.
Think you way through a whole week.
Kitchen utencils, washing machine, so on.
My brother in law just bought his first home, nearly spent 20 grand so far, but thats paint and other stuff.
Get an indoor plant, I think they're cool, and a fish tank. Paintings on the walls make it feel more home like too.
I have done this often in many countries. I love 2nd hand shops, and house content sales. You look in the phone book for second hand shops, watch the papers for house content sales, and enjoy yourself. If you want to buy all new then you will spend a lot of money which you really do not need to do.
Kitchen
First get a used, working frig. A tea kettle, for hot water for your daily beverages. cutting boards(2), kitchen table, 2 kitchen chairs. Pots and pans, cutlery, kitchen drawers/cabinet. Later you can pick up extras like, electric whisk, toaster, orange squeezer, coffee maker, but they are not necessities.
Living room,
Couch and two armchairs, coffee table, rug. A mirror.Try the Salvation Army. Sofas are easy to find.
(washer/dryer put in garage, a hose for yard work)
Bathroom
Curtains, shower curtain, towels, foot mat, soap, shampoo, and some sort of shelves.
Maybe splurge and buy a new toilet seat.
Sheets for the bed, can be bought from nice people who have lived in the house that has the house content sale. and curtains.
Spare room, second hand bed, clean used mattress and box spring, or a roll-out bed, or a bed sofa and make the room into a study.
Later you can dress the place with pictures from garage sales or content house sales, don't over do it though.
You need just about everything! Dishes, utensils for eating and cooking, pots/pans, bakeware, cookbooks are nice to have, somethings are nice to have such as organizers for the drawers, papertowel holder, microwave or toaster oven. You will need tolietries for the bathroom, toliet paper is number 1. Don't forget about hair essentials: hairdryer, curling iron if needed, shower curtain. spare rooms don't need too much. Maybe an extra dresser and some bed makings with a bedside table. The garage could need all sorts of things. An organizing shelf for yard tools bike rack if needed, garage floor sealer if needed. Alot of things really depend on what you are wanting to decorate your house in too. Rugs are nice to have by the doors and some for decoration. Curtains and mini blinds are good to have. Things can get costly but have to keep an eye out for sales and maybe even go to some garage sales or go on ebay. You will do just fine, I'm sure of it! Good Luck!
