Components for a central heating system (Combi)?
Question:I have bought a house with absolutly no central heating system, I would like to know all of the components that I should purchase, so that I can simply bring in someone and pay for labour only.
So far I have worked out I need:
-7 Radiators
-combi boiler
-Control unit for boiler
-Pipes
-Combi Boiler Filling Loop
-Circulating pump
I would also like to know if any of the above is incorrect.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

You dont need the pump, and you don't need storage as someone suggested, you hav'nt mentioned thermostatic radiator valves (6) or lockshield valves (8) get right size, the extra l/s valve is for the room (usually the hallway) which houses the roomstat (you did'nt mention a roomstat but it is regulation in uk) You may have been better buying a radio frequency programmable room thermostat, they are very good, save wiring and inexpensive. You need fittings for the pipework, but for that you need to determine if you will pipe around the house or use manifolds which are cheaper, you also need cleaner and inhibitor, a pro should bring a power flushing machine and ph tester to qualify the water for the manufacturers guarantee, which incidentally would have been 5 years had you used an approved (manufacturer) installer, you will probably get 12 or 24 months purchasing yourself, finally, many plumbers these days will charge much more for installing your own materials because you cant certify your boiler. But good luck with this!
You will need fittings for the pipe work. how have you calculated the amount of pipe work.are you using plastic or copper.do you require a storage tank. insulation for the pipework.what size pipework 15mm ,22mm youwill need some of both.If you get a plumber in to do the work he/she will tell you what you need..good luck
You are much better off if you contact 3 places that sell and install boilers. Try some HVAC companies or Plumbers.
They can size the equipment properly, run the piping, install everything and provide you with warranties.
By having 3 estimates you will be able to get prices and ask some good questions.
A big part of the total comfort in your home is the central heating system and it must be done right. Don't make a decision on price alone. Buying cheaper quite often costs much more in the long run.
