How can I protect my tomatoess from some animals? It bites different tomatoe everyday and then just left it.?

Question:I do not know what kind of animal is it. There is our back yard, I suspend that it might be a mouse? Not sure.
Is it possible to protect it somehow without putting a net around? We have only three tomatoes bushes.

It may be scavengers too at night time like coons and opossums, you may have to use chicken wire to fence off the area, I heard of people collecting hair from the salon and putting it in onion bags with bar soap shaving, This is supposed to smell like humans standing there and will keep them away, try one of those fake Owl thingamajigs, also a little tip for growing tomatoes, sprinkle some Epsom salts at the base of your tomatoes, this will make the stalks really big and put more nutrients to the fruit.

Don't rule out caterpillars. Not too many animals will eat a tomato, they're in the nightshade family, I think, and hardly anything can tolerate to eat them as they're naturally distasteful to most animals.
I have, however, seen caterpillars eat a whole tomato, almost. One morning I went to work and there was a very tiny caterpillar on a large tomato. When I came home most of the tomato was gone but there was one very large caterpillar on it. You might just be chasing a bug.
I had that happen last year and whatever it was would just leave teeth marks in the tomato. I suspected bunnies. But, I got some of that plastic hardtack at the home improvement center that is about 5 inches high and put it in the inside of the containers wrapping it in a circle following the rim and twist ties the ends together. I did it again this year and my tomato tasters haven't left their telltale teeth marks in any of my juicy, ripe tomatos this year!
Sounds like it may be an insect or tomato worm.
Dust your plant with "Sevin" powder.
You can get it at Lowe's or Home Depot.
