What is the best pest control company?

Question:I live in south Txas so we have all sorts of nasty bugs.
Scorpions
pillbugs
earwigs
spiders
fire ants & house ants
ticks

We had Terminex but they were awful. They didn't show up to appointments and never called. Plus we had to call them to come back every week because the bugs never went away or even lessened. We are now looking into Orkin but would appreciate any other opinions.

I use to work for both of those companies and can understand why you had a problem. When you deal with "the big guys" you will usually have a tech come out that is working under someone else's state license. If you go with a small company, one that is owner operated, you are more likely to have the state license holder be the one who is actually doing your service.

There are several pluses to this. First, someone with their state license usually has more knowledge than a tech working under someone else's license. Second, if the person doing your service is state licensed, they are more careful about how they apply the products around your home, so they don't loose their license! Finally, the large companies get deals from product manufacturers to use only their products. Sometimes those products are not the best for the job. The smaller companies deal with distributors that carry many different manufacturers products, so if one isn't working out, they can get something different.
