Orchid help??
Question:I've had this orchid plant for a little over 2 years now, the only time it has had flowers was when it was purchased. After all of the flowers fell off, the plant continued to grow. I asked a florist, who said they bloom every other year, so I held on to it. Now, I am expecting it to bloom, nothing.
Like I said, it is still growing and looks healthy. It get new, beg leaves. I repotted it last summer, with the special (expensive orchid soil).
It now looks to be growing new "roots" at the top of its long stem, along with a new bunch of leaves, like the ones that are closest to the soil.what's going on with this plant.will it ever bloom??

The "roots" at the top of the long stem is a new orchid plant. You can remove it from the plant once it has established 3 or 4 leaves. To get the orchid to bloom; try giving it some bloom booster. It may not be blooming becuz you may not be giving it enuf water. The best way to water it is to once a week take your pot put it in your sink and fill sink with warm (NOT HOT) water until water is almost to top of pot. Let pot sit in water for 15 min allowing the bark to soak in the water. I have had 3 orchids for 1 year; one of them blooms all the time (it's got a mini-orhid blooms) and the other is blooming for the 2nd time right now.
It will bloom for sure. Place it in the sun and water its aerial with a water spray. If possible add fertilizer into the water before spraying. New shoots will come out from the top. As the older ones drop and fade out, the base leaves would be higher and higher. Nothing to worry about. You are doing the right thing.
