Air Conditioner placement?
Question:I have a 12000 BTU air conditioner in a window in my living room.. The AC blows its air towards the place I sit constantly blowing on me no matter the fan speed or the direction of the vents. My living room is also attached to my kitchen (seperate rooms but a large opening seperates the two). I could mount the air conditioner in the kitchen allowing the vents to blow the air into my living room (thus not blowing the air on me while i am sitting in the livingroom).. My question is, will my AC still be effective at cooling my living room if i place it in the kitchens window but allow the vents to blow the air directly into my living room. Let me know if any other info is needed and I'll add to this question. Also, if you copy and paste this link, I made a diagram of my apt (not to scale) but it gives a better idea of the layout. http://img504.imageshack.us/img504/3490/...
I promise you it is not a virus or anything.

Your kitchen may be o'k.( I didn't look at your diagram) but you may want to just add a deflector onto the a/c to redirect airflow. its a lot less hassle!
If it cools the kitchen the way you have it now it should work the other way around, of course the kitchen will be cooler than the living room but it looks like it should work.
First of all I noticed another window in your living room, have you tried to use that one? It looked like the window in your kitchen would work, however would it blow on you if you were eating in the kitchen?
