Bed frame - metal or wood?

Question:Please help me decide. I need to buy my (pre teen) son a bed and can't decide if to get a metal or wood frame. I am looking to pay £129 max including mattress.

I'm 13 going on 14 and I've nearly grown out of the bed I was bought when I was 12! Buy a cheap, metal frame for now, then, when he gets older and and needs a new bed, buy him a really good wooden frame. Preferably oak. However, if your buying a bunk bed, go for wood, my metal one snapped in 2 places, wobbled constantly and nearly took one of my fingers.

I would go with wood over metal, it may be a bit more expensive than a metal frame, and it should make less noise on the floor than a metal one. ((if the floor is anything other than carpet.))
