Are the slugs which are eating my Runner Beans! more likely to be eating them in the day or night.?

Question:

Answers:
Night.

Get slug pellets or set beer traps. The pesky pests ate all mine last year. This year I preempted the slugs, but the beans look dodgy anyway. Ho Hum.

Night
More likely at night - particularly after rain.

Get the slug pellets down, or go out late at night and salt them - they don't like that!!
Probably at night, especially after it's been raining too. Why don't you use some slug repellent? Works a treat! :P
At night. Keep the bed clear of weeds and rubbish and they won't have anywhere to hide during the day. If the slugs eat your beans, you could always eat the slugs.
I would not be concerned with when they are eating them but get them to stop. Using water soluble kelp and diatomaceous earth would be a good solution to getting them to quit eating your beans. Edith
Try planting marrigolds (plants not the gloves!!) around the beans, slugs will be more interested in eating them than they will your beans!
Night - when wet particularly

Copper wire laid down round the bed they are in is said to help otherwise bowls of beer I found the best organic solution
I heard that if you put pebbles or woodchip down around your plants they won't eat them, I suppose it hurts their tummies to crawl across sharp surfaces. My friend in Australia used to dig a hole and put a plastic container of beer in it. They like beer so they go to investigate and fall in.

BTW, I apologise for using the word "tummies", there are drawbacks to being a parent.
Day/Night they dont mind. Use a slug repellent or put some sharp stones around the bottom if you want to be more organic. They also come out more when its raining.
Night
slugs eat at night, when the groud is damp, two ways to stop them 1.either use the tradional slug pelets,i find the the best, or 2sink agar o beer or lager in your runner ben bed this will atract them to,allthe best
At night for sure. But they love the damp so they'll be out in force at the moment. My plants are in a right state this yr. I tried the pellets but they're not great, plus they're not pet friendly and my puppy loves them! Someone in Answers suggested putting down a bowl of beer as they love it, they crawl in and die. It really works! Try it x
Slugs come in the cool moisture of the night. You can pick them off ( YUK!), place a ring of wood ash around the plant (careful not to touch the stem) or place saucers of beer near the plants. This draws them away from the plant and they drown in the beer. It's a chemical-free way to reduce the population.
SLUGS ARE MORE ACTIVE THROUGH THE NIGHT,AND YOU WILL BE ABLE TO CATCH MORE OF THEM IF YOU GO AND INSPECT YOUR PLANTS THROUGH THE NIGHT .
Try venturing out with a torch at night. You can't stir for the beastly things.
