Is it true it costs more (uses more electric) to boil a electric kettle than it does to run your computer?

Question:for about 8 hrs?

Answers:
I'm not positive, but it sounds likely. Creating heat with your stove or hot pot uses a lot of power. Your computer is actually powered by 12V DC current, and uses a transformer so you can plug it into a regular outlet--so it uses little energy by comparison. I'm not sure about 8 hours of computer use being equal to boiling a pot of water, but it sounds about right.

true
the second answerer sounded like they knew what they were talking about but i still cant see how that would work!! i boil my kettle about 10 times a day so according to them i could run my computer for 80 hours, that cant be right!!
