my first job was growing tomatoes in a 9 bay greenhouse, snap off suckers, they grow inbetween branches and main stalk, you can leave them on but tomatoes will be smaller and plant will be harder tokeep vertical. pollen is spread by wind, not bees, or cotton swabs if you want to get more tomatoes per bloom pod, water on a regular basis to add size and prevent splitting of tomatoe skin, add lime to soil to prevent blossom end rot or fertilizer made for tomatoe plants
The only pruning that a tomato plant should receive is the pinching off of the shoots that grow off the main stem. You didn't say what kind of tom you planted, some are determinate (they quit growing) the others don't. Good luck.
pruninin is a simple process. I aggressively prune mine.
starting as a small plant i keep mine pruned to a main branch with short branches with leaves. The other branches are refered to as Suckers. Example if you want a super tomatoe, when the blooms start to appear pick 1 out of the 3 typical cluster to remain and remove the rest this allows all food and nutrient to go to just 1 instead. Only thing with pruning is dont do perfect clean cuts as the plant will bleed excessivly just take yer fingernail and pinch it near the stalk and twist it off.
hello yes take away some leaves and dont forget to let in the bees ,no bees ,no tomato.
