Removing marks left from the sticky underside of English Ivy on aluminum siding?
Question:We had to cut back some English Ivy on our new house and when we cut it back, it left some really ugly marks where the sticky underside of the vines were clinging to and climbing up the siding above the brick.
Does anyone know how we might be able to remove the hard, spiney traces left on the aluminum without scratching it too badly?
Has anyone ever had to deal with unruly Ivy? Its so pretty but kind of turning out to be a lot of maintenance. Lots of bird nests in there though so we don't want to cut it back right now.
Answers:
Yep. Just get a bottle of Clorox Cleaner at the grocery and spray it on the spot and let it sit for about 15 minutes. Rinse and VOILA!
We sold our house in the woods last year. The Ivy was a problem. I'd be careful not to scrub too hard. It may discolor. The Impatiens should be okay. Just cut back the parts that turn yellow.
