There are little tiny flies coming from the plants in my boss' office.?
Question:...and they keep coming into mine! What are they, and how can I get rid of them?
Answers:
In absense of fruit, they might be fungus gnats, a 1 tbsp of an old fashion dishsoap like octagon or Baby shampoo to a gal of water. This kills them as the eggs hatch
You can also use Gnatorl but it's about $16 a gallon
Odds are it will take about 5 weeks
They might be fruit flies. Get a little electric bug zapper and hang it in your office. The ZAP each time one dies will make your day. You could also try some flying bug spray.
Here is what I found on the internet, I would also clean up any water that might be standing in the pots tray.
A fruit fly is a small flying insect about 1/8 inch in length with red eyes. The key to how to get rid of fruit flies is to locate and eliminate their breeding sources. Although there are several sprays and traps used to kill flies in a home, restaurant or other structure, the infestation cannot be completely eradicated without eliminating its source.
Sounds like he's got fruit flies!
