I need to know what kind of bug is in my house!?
Question:We got back from vacation and found these wierd little black bugs in our house - especially around the sinks and water bowl for the cats... They almost look like beetles - but very small with little antennae. They are turning up everywhere now - and I see they like urine... One of my kids had an accident. I put the underwear in the laundry basket. When I got to it later (okay, maybe a day later) some of these little bugs were on the clothing. Any ideas? They don't seem to bite, they just need to get out! Suggestions and help, please!

I believe they are African Beetles. They are small and like water. I sprayed with a general indoor insecticide. This worked, however after a couple of months I needed to repeat the spray. Also, if you have a basement or other cool area with a little extra moisture, look for nests. Their nests look almost like small caccoons. Spray them well.
Do they have a little silvery look to them? Could be silverfish, they are attracted to water.
Those are baby roaches. I used to have them too. I live in florida too. Use the anti-roaches techniques...you can find tons of answers here about that. Good Luck.
They are most likely a beetle. There are many different types of beetles out there. The treatment is usually the same. Apply a dust, Boric or Delta Dust, to void areas. Apply a crack and crevice treatment with Cy-Kick CS. You can also spray Cy-Kick directly on to carpets, beds, or other infested areas. It is based off of a chrysanthemum flower and at a caution level it is less toxic then toothpaste.
If you need additional advice you can ask Joe.
