Need tips on organizing... Especially books, papers, crafts, etc..?

Question:I am trying to figure out an easy and neat way to organize different things around my house, especially things like my family's coloring books, word puzzle books, and notebooks. I can lean them together like books but they are flimsy so they always fall.

Also, I am going to be a teacher and am looking for ways to organize the tons of children's books I have. I have two bins full and they are pretty much just stacked neatly... Does anyone do that a different way?

Answers:
I use baskets and rubbermaid totes for everything. They come in different colors and stack up nicely.

For the coloring books, etc. I use storage containers with drawers. They are usually clear plastic. This helps the little ones see what's inside the drawer so there's no need for labeling everything! They can be found almost anywhere...Wal Mart, Target, etc.

For the books, I would never keep them in bins. It's a quicker way to tear up the books. For a long time, I kept my kids' books on a small wood bookcase. I also got it from Wal Mart, only costs about $20-and you'll have to put it together yourself. The bookcase I have has 3 shelves, 2 of them are adjustable. Plenty big enough for even the really tall books. We've also tried the plastic shelves (that you put together yourself) and have liked those, too. Since these are kids' books, I wouldn't bother trying metal shelves. Kids withOUT metal are dangerous enough!! :)
