A BARLEY BALL! Yes, that's right, barley! I discovered this cure for pond algea because I was also recently asking around to find an answer. A friend of mine student teaches at a school that had a pond with similar problems, they used the barley ball, and next thing you know the problem was solved. You can find these at most gardening or landscaping stores.

Fish! they will eat the algae before it becomes "moss", which is really just mature algae/bacteria. The bigger the pond, the bigger the fish should be, and vice versa.
