How can i get rid of termites in my house w/o hiring an exterminator?
Question:My husband and I recently bought a new house, and have discovered we have termites!! We are in our early 20's and have a 2 y/o son, so obviosly we have to live on a budget. Exterminators cost ALOT. Is there any way we can get rid of these crazy bugs ourselfs?

I can understand you have to live on a budget..but can your budget stand having your house destroyed while you live in it?
Talk to an exterminator and see if they can work with a payment plan you can live with. It's for sure you can't live with the termites!
You are going to have to change your priorities. Having a place to live is more important than the money you will try to save working to get rid of the termites on your own.
Did the home inspector miss this? You should've been told about it. You can't get rid of termites without an exterminator. And you can't live with termites. I'd call the office of the home inspector first or a lawyer and see if you can do anything legally to get the home inspector to foot the bill on this one.
Before you purchased your home, an inspector should have gone through the house, checking for termites, water leaks from the roof, etc. Was that not done? Check into this. Also, I'm thinking that the previous owners would have had to sign a paper saying the house was termite free. See a lawyer before any more time goes by. You never should have been able to purchase a home that was infested with these very destructive insects.
Termiside SC and premise foam can be bought at a home depot or Costco but you reall y should contact a lawyer if your house is infested with termites I am sure the seller knew about this!1
Home inspectors do not always find termites.Same with WDO inspectors. They inspect what"is visible at the time of inspection" A lawyer will not be any help.As far as doing it yourself,Don't!There are products available but without the training and application methods available for professionals you will be wasting you time and money example 4 gallons finished termiticide per 10 linear feet per foot of depth at the base of the footer and voids? How could you do it without the proper rig?Call a pro, most have some sort of payment plan and have your biggest investment protected.
