Modular Homes?

Question:We are thinking of doing this for our family. We are going to get a small peice of land in an old subdivision and build this way. Is it safe? Is it good for resale? Any ideas or info please. Also how do I select the sinks, toilets, flooring lights and so on.

Answers:
There is no zoning to check, if the lot is residential. The above poster is confusing manufactured homes with that of modular homes.

Modular homes are consider stick built and are put on foundations. Manufactured homes are on beams and are shipped to the site on wheels.

Modular homes are brought to site in sections and are brought in by flat bed trucks.

Good Luck,

Peter

You might want to check zoning, to see if modular homes are permitted on the lot. I would imagine resale is not as good as other building styles. The place where you look at modular homes can point to the different options available.
