Reducing the size of bonsai leaves.?

Question:I do everything, from cutting the tap root (don't know how much i should cut it ), to pruning the fibrous roots, but generally speaking the size of the leaves doesn't decrease proportionately.

Answers:
Hundreds of species are made into bonsai designs. Until you identify the species, the advice is almost worthless. You're welcome to send a photo to me at
wchoat@american-bonsai.com and I'll try to identify it then tell you about the leaves. You may also want to look at the Bonsai care page and photos on my website:

It depends on the type of tree you have. Some never get too small of leaves. It may also take several years for the leaves to come in smaller. Hope you can wait.
