How can I snake proof my yard?
Question:I live in the south, on a river, and have more snakes in my yard than all of my neighbors. They climb onto my deck, hang out on the porch, etc. Most are non-poisonous, but I am still very afraid of them. I have heard of using campher, moth balls, lime. Please help!
Answers:
yes put mothballs down of course unless you have an outside dog or cat . also get a shot gun . cause you never know a water mocassin could get up there. good luck .
Get a pet mongoose.
mongooses...lots of mongooses
I just moved near a creek and killed my first snake the other day. I am hearing if you have an outside domestic cat, they'll kill 'em so you don't have to.
Yes, mothballs do work. They also work on scorpions. Also, consider getting a bb gun.
mongeese, and a sign that says 'No Snakes, Please'.
moth balls are probably the easiest way to keepsnakes away, just make sure you don't have any out where pets can get at them. I can't imagine an animal eating one of them, but my dog eats squirrel poop so there's no accounting for taste!!
pour sulphur around the "likely" entrance.
ALL Snake hate sulphur.
this should be the best answer.
