I've invented a new, all natural, non-toxic, biodegradable bug spray. Your thoughts?

Question:It's taken me 16 years to perfect it but I finally found the perfect formula. There's no noxious fumes, it's perfectly safe for plants, pets and children and only contains natural products, no man-made chemicals. In addtion, I put it in an adjustable spray bottle so you can use a wide spray to take out a bunch of ants in one shot, a smaller spray for individual bugs or a stream for things like taking out a wasp nest from as far as 8-10 feet. Would you buy it? If so, would you be willing to pay a little more than you would for a can of Raid?

Hi Dakota,

To answer your question, yes I would pay a little more to use something EFFECTIVE to kill insects that was environmentally friendly. My history has been that they may work, but they take a little longer...no one wants to hear that when they are squirting a wasp nest...lol...just teasing. I think it is a great idea, and I hope it is truly effective, if so with the way the world is headed towards a "greener" environment you could have something good on your hands. I wish you luck, and if you need someone objective to test your product let me know!. Take care and good luck!!

If this is true, you should patent your formula because the world is going "green" and yes, people will pay more for "green" products.
First of all, patent your formula if you haven't already. 16 years is a lot of work, and you certainly don't want someone producing the same work and profiting off your investment of time.
If it's as good as you say it is, you might consider selling the formula to a company...But do this AFTER you've patented your work.

Would I pay more? If it's as effective as Raid, maybe. I don't have pets or kids, so I don't worry about the toxicity so much. Maybe I should..B

In any case, if you can prove your product is as effective as more toxic commercial brands, you might consider marketing it to a larger company who can sell it for you. Get the patent.
Sounds great, you better hurry and get a patent before someone else does. I think it will be a big hit and the cost wont really matter as long as it is reasonable, it is worth a little more if it is "green". Good luck!
Look at the success of Whole Foods. People are looking for organic alternatives. But everyone is right about getting a patent. Then try marketing it to Whole Foods. They charge premium prices. You might want to go there and see what type of competition there is in that product category.
I know of one that already exists: "Simple Green" which is a cleaning agent, but it kills ants, is non-toxic and is biodegradable.
I would pay more, but not much more than raid or similar. That's one problem of 'new' and 'improved' products.there's always that jump in price..up and up and up. However I am all for natural products. I think all the chemicals we use in our world is what is poisoning us all.

Go for it..good luck.
I def. would buy your product and pay a little extra for it. Best of luck to you!
