Answers:
try borax an caster sugar mixed 50-50
leave in small piles for them to take away

Why kill them? It's their floor as much as it is yours, except you were silly enought o pay money so it looks like it's yours.
For outdoor use on ant-hills, you should use hot dirty cooking oil. For indoor use, raid.

try turmeric powder...
OMG!! it is so easy. Lysol and water in a spray bottle. about 50/50. It doesnt smell as bad as store bought repelents, ants wont come back wherever you spray it, and it is safer than any chemical!
Okay I swear I've tried everything but my there is one thing that trully works. My Grandparents in the mid-west used to use this stuff called "Terro". I don't know where you live but they seem to sell it every where now. I know OSH has it. I't awsome! You set it out along the line of ants and the are drawn to it, (by the masses). They then eat it and take it home for there friends to share with them. And then there are none. It take about at the most 2 weeks for them to be gone but it works because after that they seen to stay gone, wiped out! If they are bad anyway, whats two weeks? It's kinda interesting to watch them too. They are VERY attracted to this ant poison and total swarm. Any way I think this stuff rocks, OH and it's cheap! Good luck!:)
