What decoration can I make from seashells?

Question:I'm thinking small things, maybe with candles..
Do you have some ideas??

Answers:
1. make seashell doorbeads-
make small holes or buy seashell beads and strig them together to make long strands of seashells. make 5-10 of these and hang them by ur door, over a window as a curtain, or against a wall. try wrapping one around a bedpost or using them as a canopy?

2. buy some interesting glass jars and fill them with colored sand and the shells. use as book ends, decoration peices on a shelf, or place them around the room.

3. buy a cork board and some thumbtacks. glue the seashells as a border around the edge of the board and glue some smaller seashells on the thumb tacks. hang up ur favorite pix on it!

4. put large seashells on the windowsill. try putting tealight candles in them!

Get small Terra cotta pots, cover them with craft glue, cover them with a variety of shells and varnish them. Put small pebbles inside the pot in which you will be able to place a candle and it will stand up in the pot.Sorry, use plaster of paris mix - not glue. The shells can be pushed into the plaster and they will stay firm when plaster sets.
You can try gluing them to a picture frame or flower pot. I once glued some around my bathroom mirror and it turned out very nice.
If you want to put them on candles you can. All you have to do is melt a little spot on the candle and push the shell onto it or a little craft glue should work. As the candle melts the shells will drop off and you can clean them and begin again. However, if you want something a little more challenging
there is a great craft called a "Sailor's Valentine" in which sailors, while at sea, would cover boxes with sea shells. Some were so detailed and fabulous. You can put shells together in such a way that they look like roses or other flowers or you can just make patterns with them. Typically the sailors would use octagonal compass boxes, but you can use any box including decorative card board boxes you can find at a craft store. I think the tiny boxes covered in shell are so pretty and they make perfect gifts for people hard to buy for. Here are some examples of "Sailor's Valentines"
