How can i reduce the noice created by walking on Hard wood Floors?
Question:I have a 2 year old and we stay on 2nd Floor apartment. My neighbour downstairs is complaining about the sound due to walking. I have put carpets etc but the floors are so bad that it is still creating noise while walking. Is there some specialised footwear which can reduce this?
Answers:
No.
Tell your neighbor you are sorry, and what you have tried to do to compensate for the noise.
Politely suggest that the two of you could perhaps contact your rental agency, and ask for a professional to look at it. Short of that, you can't do much of anything else to please your downstairs buddy.
Good luck.
Stevo.
Your downstairs neighbor should switch apartments with you and shut up. I would contact the landlord and let them either fix the problem or tell your neighbor to shut up. I would let the child go barefoot anyway.
walk bare footed
I also think it is up to the Landlord to solve the problem. Why not but carpets with a padded backing? These can be more expensive but may be worth a try as opposed to putting down a new floor.
nailed in wood floors creek! about all you can do is thick padding and carpet or several coats of polyurethane.
There's nothing you can do about noise from wood floors. Your neighbor is just going to have to get used to it!
